Splendid is quiet and it’s dark out. The girls are sleeping. I’m going through my normal morning rituals before a trip. Get up early, make coffee, and check the NOAA weather charts, Grib files, radar images, and national hurricane center. I’ll put the dinghy up on deck soon, upload my latest route from my PC to the GPS, and turn on the autopilot and so on.
I don’t like the looks of getting through the Port Saint Lucy inlet by the charts but I hear keel boats do it all the time. I’m hitting it at high tide and I’ll have a chat with sea-tow before I transit it. If I’m not feeling good about it I’ll head North on the ICW to the next inlet about 20 miles up the road.
The weather looks okay however it may be wet. I don’t really know where we are going to put in. I’m hoping it’s a nice trip and we can go as far as
I probably won’t be online for a few days but you can always check the spot.
Cheers everyone.
Sail far and live slowly.

I was watching you on the SPOT track at work today. It was looking good then you went back in. How was the weather out there?
is everything alright alex i was watching you to hope all is well. update
I turned back into the ICW. There was no wind and a tight 4-5′ roll from the SW. Figure if there is no wind and we have to motor, might as well be comfortable.
It’s cool to be mooring up the ditch and have internet :)
Alex
the ditch taunts me furiously. we don’t get along.
i’m glad you went inland. i got some weather faxes a little bit after you left this morning and it looked like this system is stalled over us right now, sucking all the good sailing wind, and leaving only the suck.
hope it gets better around canaveral or jacksonville, so you can get out there and put some cloth up.
it looks like i will be in stuart for my birthday [ :( ] this year…
anyone know of a decent place to go for moderately priced drinks?
perhaps live music?
pipedream? Yes.
Can’t have everything I guess. Don’t know a lot about one lungers but a lot of those little guys are meant to be overfueled and only get “right” under load. Does it still do it under load? Thats probably too easy. if compression is low you can mess up your valves right quick. Do you have to use ether or starting fluid. That often reflects poor compression. Most likely from what I’ve heard I’d guess fouled injector. Maybe the fuel is not atomizing and getting an incomplete burn. I envy you traveling. I live on a hunter in a landlocked lake and was wondering how to take out a dam just this morning. Stay dry, W
Here in St. Augustine just south of Jacksonville, we’re getting walloped every single afternoon by powerful thunderstorms. Starts out a sunny day but by 4pm its a black sky in some random direction over land, then the storms blow out to sea. Be careful.
