Land and Sea

bugzzzzzzz!

I hate BUGS!

We have an ICW guide, and for whatever reason they claimed there was an anchorage behind red marker whatever, and well, there wasn’t. We got there just as night was falling and I couldn’t squeeze Splendid’s big butt in the tiniest of anchorage holes. I had to backtrack a mile and anchor off of some mansions dock, it was buggie! I don’t think anyone lived there as no lights were on.

I’m having some problems with my autopilot, luckily it is still under warrantee. After a few minutes Splendid starts “snaking” through the water. The compass baring is off again as well. I think it is loosing the information after I configure it.

I’m making a few bucks with the peoplestring thing. I think I can turn it into a little income every month. Basically it is a social network like facebook that gives the majority of the income produced back to the people. An old college buddy is involved with it and I’m starting to believe I can make a few bucks with it. If you sign up they have live webcasts you can watch that explain everything, however I haven’t watched it yet. I’m going to try and catch the one at 8pm EDT this Sunday. If you’re planning on cruising I’d suggest giving it a shot, it can’t hurt right? Make sure you do your entire internet surfing through it. Make it your home page and add all the bookmarks that you normally use.

Anyway…, we are cruising up the ditch today. Still no wind off shore and I need to deal with the autopilot thing. I’m hoping it is a setting, and yes, I have tried the various response settings? It seems to be working at the moment as I’m writing this blog.

Cheers everyone.

Peace, Love, and Peoplestring!!!

  2. Hay I have a good tip for autopilot maintenance, DON’T PUT AN ARC WELDER ON THE FLUXGATE COMPASS!!! Problem solved.

Hay at least I admit to the stupid things I do sometimes :)

manumit, read yesterdays log. No wind and a SW swell.Cheers.

Looks as if it will be no winds and swells all week long, lots of motoring going on.

    Cheers,

  4. I hate lots of motoring, The motor is running a bit hot.

I pulled over and cleaned of the salt water intake and cleaned the strainer. it was nice to take a dip. However the motor is still running hot, so I’m going to anchor and change the impeller. Man I really wanted to make 70 miles today! It is what it is at least we are cruising around.

  5. Do you have a open or closed system on the motor?

  6. Did Spot stop working?
It was nice to see the progress you were making as I sit here at work.

  7. Spot’s off, I’ll turn it back on.

I think I found the over heating issue. When we pulled the generator in Key West we closed a valve. I think the motor was just pulling from the water going through the engine driven refrigeration system. We’ll see in the morning.

  9. When we took off on our first extended cruise we inadvertently stacked a bunch of metal cans near our fluxgate and had the same problem.
