AHHHHHH!!!!!!!

I had the worst day stuck in the engine room yesterday. It was in the high 90’s and HOT, HOT, HOT in the engine room. I changed the oil and internal fuel filter. The oil is a piece of cake but I had to bleed the air out of the fuel system to install the new fuel filter and kept getting air in it. It took a good few hours to get the motor running again. The good news is I feel really comfortable with the fuel system, the bad news is I must have sweat a few gallons and was quite miserable, AHHHHHH!

I got the new LED running lights and anchor light, they are AWESOME!!! The locking ring to my aqua-signal light broke and I had to order another one. $44.00 for a plastic ring, ARRRGGG! I had to have it 2 day shipped but at least I’ll have the running lights dealt with!

Today its clean up and organizing. We are planning to leave on Wednesday. I still have to visit the fuel dock and fill up with water.

It will be nice to be under way again.

Cheers everyone.

Hi guys, We just got back from 12 days on the Catalina 25(3 of us) and still love sailing !
8 foot waves on Lake Ontario. 15-20 knots.
Any advice from you or others on how the best/most cost effective way to deal with mosquitoes ? None of us really like spraying pesticides all over our bodies every night. Thanks brother. Stay safe, have fun and keep moving north. God Bless. Peace.

Depaul Diesel makes a conversion kit that allows you to change filters on the 4-108 with having having to bleed injection system. 401-683-2330 or email them at sales@depauldiesel.com. I’ve had mine for 6 years and haven’t had to bleed the system.

  7. Capt Paul. We are leaving on Wednesday and dont think we have enough time to get it??? I don’t know the next stop.

  8. Don’t know about your fuel setup. But what has worked for me over the last 15 years with huge Racor filters is
I installed outboard motor tank squeeze bulbs between my tank and first filter. This allows you to “squeeze”
the air out of the system without too much of a sore finger from pushing the primer on the engine mechanical pump.
I can prime all the way through my injector pump.
    Have a great trip!

  9. will use e mail when i have news for sam or alsx
