Well, I’m running around with my head cut off attacking projects. I do this before any trip, it’s just part of it.
Sam scraped and repainted the library, it looks nice. The other picture is our friend Kerri who is doing the canvas. Check out the color of the new sunbrella, I LOVE IT!
I still need to fix/swap the alternator. I want to put my new 130amp Electromaax in but I’ll have to re-wire the whole thing as it has so much more amperage. The wire from the old alternator is quite small, I’m thinking it’s about a 40 amper??
We are having our send-off party tonight at the yacht basin. Our friend James cleans boat bottoms and has offered to clean up Splendid, thanks James. That’s one project I don’t have to deal with :)
I went to 4-5 shops yesterday looking for yellow diesel jury jugs. What is up with the new fangled jugs???? I cant find a normal style spout? The only jugs I could find that are the old style are the blue ones for water. They are all made out of the same material and I think I’ll just go with blue for diesel. I’ll put yellow rescue tape on them for identification. Jury jugs are a strange things. The designs keep getting worse. I think it’s all fueled by lawsuits or something. The new spouts look like an accident waiting to happen.
I bought some line yesterday and I need to rig the windvane today. Man I hope it works. Sailing with a windvane instead of an electronic autopilot is such a nice experience.

I’m right with ya on the fuel can spouts… I think it’s all about trying to cut down on evap and fumes…you just end up spilling more when you’re pouring. I’m gonna try and find a couple of old style cans at yard/household sales this summer. Have fun tonight! Sounds like fun

I agree with the accident waiting to happen; I just offered to help my sister mow her lawn and proceeded to spill a gallon of gas all over the garage trying to figure the damn thing out.
