It nice to be in a place sharing the water with beautiful ships like this. I took this image yesterday of a passing schooner at sunset.
Summer is here. The cold fronts and 40 degree weather seem to be behind me, YAHOOOOO!
I’ll be leaving Splendid for 3 weeks for work starting on the 15th and will return on the 5th of May. As soon as I get back I’m going to buy a few things, install the diesel generator with my buddy Chuck, and beet feet for Panama. If Sam and Guin don’t do the trip with me they will fly in once I arrive. I cant wait to share the San Blas with them, “what a magical place”.
Darrin is doing some final fairing on Splendid and we are going to get some painting done this week. What a HUGE job this has been! When you think about it though, I’ve managed to buy a beautiful 40′ sailboat, put her together, and go cruising in 14 months. That’s not so bad. There are 2 other 40′ Cheoy Lee Midshipman on yachtworld.com, you should check them out. “What a nice cruising and charter boat they make”. It’s hard to believe that I paid what many people pay for an average used car. However I’ve done a little calculating and have invested a good $62K in man hours, and about 8k in materials & equipment.
As soon as I leave here I’ll be starting work on the 3rd DVD in the BlueSphere series. Well…, I might take a few months off to shoot fish :)
Cheers everyone.
Sail far and live slowly.
