Glory Day

MY DVD (Finding Freedom) is done and in the mail to Burbank for duplication! Making this film is a milestone for me and a great reward of accomplishment. We will truly be shipping it in a few weeks! All I have to do is tweak the cover art and design the disk surface.

I’ll never buy another Sony camera again! I worked really hard last year (15 months ago) chartering and saving money so I could afford a really nice HDV camera (HDR-HC1). Well you may remember it crapped out on me when I was in the Tuamotos due to a moisture issue. I was so careful with my camera it was ridiculous. It lived in its waterproof pelican case and I was always very gentile with it. Sony doesn’t fix cameras with moisture issues even if it falls within the warrantee, and I never got it wet! I managed to get it working again by baking it in the sun for a day. Two weeks later the swivel touch screen died along with all the controls for the deck. I got a quote of $600 to fix it, and I just can’t afford it ARG!!! It’s time for me to start thinking of producing my next video and I’m thinking of shooting it using a simple flip (www.theflip.com) video camera. They are only $180.00 and an underwater case is only $50.00. Does anyone have one that could comment on it? I’ll have to sacrifice image quality, but I think my films are more about content anyway.

I’ll be working on my boat all day and not stressing about finishing the film : )

Peace, Love, and Completion!
