We’ll I’ve been running around like crazy. I had a friend visit for a few days and I picked up Josh from the airport yesterday.
When I was in Tampa I went to look at a 10hp Mercury for $500.00 (paid $350.00). The guy didn’t know much about it. It didn’t have a fuel tank so I couldn’t start it, I bought it anyway. I bought a tank and turned it over. It fired right up but was misfiring. A buddy of mine and I pulled it apart and went hunting for the problem. I felt under the flywheel and found chunks of broken magnet. I pulled the flywheel off and one of the magnets that control the spark had come unglued and was on the wrong side of the flywheel. I re-epoxy’d it and I’m letting it sit up now. I ordered a carburetor re-build kit and some other parts ($135.00), I’m hoping I’ll have a good motor at the end of the day. It’s really clean and a really well built motor, it’s the “sea pro” edition.
I don’t have internet on the boat anymore and need to bring a laptop to shore to send and receive mail.
I took a “Splendid update” video and will be posting it to youtube in a few days.
Peace, Love and Coconuts everyone.
Alex
