Land and Sea

Auto pilot

Well yesterday was a wiring day. Bryan came over in the morning with the control head. It’s an ST4000 but a Autohelm one, it’s pre RayMarine. The wiring configuration is different, and I couldn’t permanently mount it, but I think it will work. I spent most of the day pulling the entire seatalk system apart. I don’t have wind instrumentation now, but I can live without it. Depth, Autopilot, and Radar is fine. The new control head seems to be controlling the drive. After spinning the compass I’ll trial it on the way to Tonga tomorrow or the next day.

I called out on the radio a few times and finally got a hit. I managed to buy a Racor 2010 filter from a German boat, what luck!!!

I never got a chance to check out the island. The swell was up yesterday and nearly impossible to approach the wharf. There is no dinghy landing here. one must approach the wharf and attach the dinghy to a crane and lift it onto the dock, it is a unique system. Rain came and went through out the day.

Today I’m going to clean up the boat and get ready for sea again. I’ll probably do a bit of shopping and try to find some fruit, veggies, and eggs.

Another day in the Pacific.

Peace, Love, and coconuts.
