Weather

I really do love West Sails. I was told about one here and that the older gentleman aboard was in need of computer help, his electronic charts were not working. I went over to help and as a result got treated to a nice steak dinner, ?Yummy?.

He bought his West Sail a year and a half ago and has had every problem (Motor, Generator, electronics) known to man with it. I asked how the rig, sails, and boat preformed ?excellent? he replied. That?s the thing about sailing, we over complicate everything, so many electronics and stuff. I want my next boat to be simple.

I?m glad I pulled in here. I looked at the Hawaiian surface analysis for the region and it shows a triangle and 4.5 feathers on the wind barb indicating 95kt winds for the area I?d be in just about now, don?t want to be there! I spoke to some local sailors about this, this morning ant they couldn?t believe what they were seeing, ?very unusual?! It is a strong La Ninya year and there are 3 heavy cold fronts marching through the area. There is quite a pressure squeeze just to the south. You must realize it is the dead of winter here; the weather should be cooling down soon as we are approaching spring.

Well I have the running lights fixed and I got a needed pin for my autopilot. I?m just hanging out waiting. If it was easy I guess everyone would be doing this.

Cheers everyone.

Peace, Love, and Coconuts.
