Bad rigging

These turnbuckles are from under Namaste’s bumpkin. The are often underwater and take a large load when sailing downwind. I checked them when I left Panama. They were a bit rusty, but no cracks. I ordered new rigging from defender and I must say they were pleasure to work with. Hugh brought the rigging and we installed it when he was here, it took about an hour. As soon as I can save up I’ll order all new rigging. If your re-rigging your boat please conceder bronze turnbuckles. Stainless has a nasty way of hiding defects until it is potentially unsafe.

Yesterday I had to rewire my running lights (red/green), and remount the “white” on the stern as it came down with my radar mount. I’m back in business. At some point I would like to replace my running lights with more efficient LED’s.

Aki was having problems getting his laptop connected to the internet yesterday. I battled with his computer for an hour but finally figured it out. After that we headed to town for pizza and beer, it was nice to sit down in a restaurant.

Today I’m supposed to interview and photograph Rose in the early afternoon.

Namaste is all fueled up and I’ll sail to the west in a few days. I don’t really know where I’m going (Tahiti or Ttuamotoes) but I’ll figure it out under way.

Happy Sunday.

Peace, love, and a solid rig!
