Aki invited our friends that live on Hive Oa (Hiro & Jameina) to join him on the sail to Ua Pou. We all had a nice dinner last night as Aki caught a 35 pound Wahoo, they are anchored just next to me. The crossing was a bit rough and littered with squalls. I think Hugh had a good time experiencing sailing in the south Pacific, he was wise to bring fowl weather gear.
Hugh went back this afternoon. I really enjoyed my charter with him, what a cool guy. He taught me how to hunt and clean birds which will go a long way in this land of expensive meats. Hugh has a 33’ Choi Lee and will be cruising soon. Hiro and Jamena were on the same flight with him. It stops on Nuka Hive before continuing to Hive Oa.
Aki and I walked around town and had lunch at a small restaurant this afternoon. I think he is as excited about the Tuamotos as I am. I really miss clear water and spear fishing every day. I think I’ll head for Rangerioa in a week or so.
I’ve heard a roomer that there is wireless internet on Nuka Hiva. I’ll check it out in a few days and post some new pictures if possible.
Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend.
Cheers.
Alex
