Tempura

I must admit I was quite sad to see Machiko off yesterday. We had a really wonderful week together. I met Machi in Panama just before I left to cross the Pacific. I was friends with her mom Yoko who I met through Aki and company.  I hope to see Machi again soon.

Last night was tempura night with Aki, Massa, Phillip, and Seki. I was feeling a bit off and retired early. The night was moonless and I could hardly see my way rowing back to Namaste. While I was rowing my dinghy was struck by something large, I’m thinking a shark or ray. Perhaps it was as blind as I was and just collided with me?

Today I’m planning on filing the fuel tank with the fuel on deck and changing the racor filter. I may also bring my fuel jugs to the gas station and get some diesel, $5.25 per gallon, ouch!

I’ve started another batch of wine. This time it’s made with Japanese rice, raisins, mangos, lime, dragon fruit, and of course sugar, water, and yeast. When I get to Tahiti I need to find an online wine making supply site. I need the powder that stops the fermentation process, and another that makes the sediment fall to the bottom of the container. My wine looks more like beer and I’d like to clean it up. I’d really like to produce enough so I don’t have to buy any more alcohol. I’m starting to collect empty wine bottles. I’m enjoying winemaking.

Aki spoke to the local police the other day and asked if we could hunt the local chickens, “no problem, take as many as you like, they are wild”. I’ve never cleaned a bird before; I hear it’s easier if you boil it for a few minutes first?

I hope everyone has a beautiful weekend.

Life is good!

Peace, Love, and Paradise.
