Land and Sea

Touring

Aki and I made friends with the guy who runs the meteorological office. He invited us for site seeing and dinner tomorrow. He has a Land Rover and we will be able to get to the archeological sites without a problem.

I have to meet my yacht agent later in the day to fill out some paper work so I can buy “duty free” fuel. I should be able to buy my diesel for around $3.00 a gallon as opposed to $5.25. I made 2 phone calls today for $40.00 (2 phone cards). I think it’s more economical for me to use my satellite phone.

I jut got back from town. I visited the vegetable stand, the local woman who sells eggs, and walked to a farm to buy some fruit. It so relaxed here. South America has the Latin vibe thing going on, and I love it. But I’m really enjoying island life again. It’s really nice to take time for a stroll in the rain or just to stop and chat with people. I chased a chicken for a while today, man those things are fast, no luck. I wish I had an air gun or wrist rocket. I’m thinking of trying to make a trap from fishing net. Anyone have any experience catching chickens?

Machi already emailed in my photos and I’m hoping they will be posted today. I’m excited for everyone to see this beautiful island.

Peace, love, and free range chicken!
