SAKE KING!!!!

There were no rental cars available yesterday so Machiko and I went food shopping and walked around town.

We were invited to “Polaire” for dinner last night. Polaire is a beautiful Japanese vessel (Tayana 52), and is captained by Seki.

Aki, Massa, and Phillip came as well. Machiko and I made a really nice salad and I broke out my first bottle of home made wine (Sake). I made two different batches. One was only made with raisins and tastes funny; I think it is turning to vinegar.  The other was primarily made with Japanese rice. It also had raisins and a few plums. The alcohol content was a bit high so I added a little fresh lime juice and sugar, it came out really nice. It was put to the test by serious sake drinking Japanese men that approved. The bottle was gone in the first half hour and followed by a nice buzz.

Seki is really into electronics and gadgets. He has a huge remote controlled, gas driven helicopter onboard, not to mention a professional karaoke system. After the sake and a few Hinano beers (Beer of Tahiti) everyone started singing karaoke. I sang “Yesterday”, and politely bowed out of everything else.

I’m off to the airport in a few minutes then I will return to Atuona for my fresh baguette run.

Cheers from Paradise.

Peace, Love and my yummy Sake!!!!
