Rigging

I did a hard days work in the blaring sun yesterday, I’m getting quite dark.

I finished cleaning the water line which took a few hours. When I was about half done Aki and Massa, came to help me. With 2 extra pairs of hands it went quickly and only cost me 2 cold Guinness’s. It’s nice to have good friends.

I also scrubbed the bathroom and disassembled the radar mount. When I was working on the radar mount I noticed that the pin which holds the tiller to the rudder was wearing into the rudder. 2 large washers were rusted away, I replaced them. Then I did a quick inspection of the rig. One of my turnbuckles is cracked quite badly. There are 2 turnbuckles under the bumpkin which are often under water. I can’t go anywhere until they are replaced. I believe if I had been at sea another week I may have lost the rig. It’s a quick fix (10 mins), however I need the newhardware. With my new found wealth I’m going to place an order for new rigging for the bumpkin (about $500). I will have my next guest bring it, or have it shipped ASAP!

After the day was done I went to Liberty for udon noodles and sake. Aki and I contemplated sailing into the black sea. Not many cruise in the black sea and it might make for interesting video.  There are however many miles between here and there.

Today is laundry day again. It takes a lot of effort to do laundry by hand. A load may take me a few hours and is quite a workout. But what the hell, I have time, and I do it in a beautiful environment.

My friend Machiko arrives tomorrow. I will start hitch hiking for the airport around noon; she arrives just after 16:00.

The subscriptions are still coming in and I now have an income of $275 a month, I’m so happy and relieved I can’t see strait, I will dance the hula!!! I’m surprised that $150.00 of that is due to 3 $50/mo subscriptions. At this rate I may just reach my goal of $500 a month, only $225.00 more to go. This is a result of 5 years of work on the website. Many may laugh at how happy I am with so little money, but this is the sweetest money I’ve ever made. It is a result of a labor of love. I think when one makes money doing what they want it is far sweeter then doing a job they hate, good energy too.

Until tomorrow.

Peace from Paradise.
