Last night was a long one. The south side of Contadora got quite uncomfortable but Cass and I rode it out. Cass went back to Panama City this morning to get ready for her parents arrival, Christmas shop, and generally get ready for the holidays. I opted to stay behind and go into crazy work mode. Our first 2 weeks out here were filled with rain and the better part of the other week centered around d the careening. I still have a bunch of shots to get and am planning on returning to Panama in a week to 10 days.
After I put Cass on the plane this morning I sailed to Isla Ampon. My friend Aki on “Liberty” followed and we dropped the hook around 14:30. The first thing we did is go spear fishing. Aki shot a nice trigger and I shot a grouper, 2 snappers, and a mullet. Aki’s friend is a sushi chef and did a wonderful job preparing everything for dinner. He served something I didn’t recognize. I asked what it was, he said “try, try…, it’s good”. I did and it was great. It was the trigger’s kidney. Believe it or not it was fantastic. We had half of it as sashimi, and the other half boiled, I like it as sashimi. We broke out the guitar, sang songs, and gazed at the full moon. It was a beautiful night.
Peace, love and trigger kidney.
