That lightning that was coming was a long line of squalls. It rained all through the night and till about 15:00 the next day. I drank lots of tea, and started John Grisham’s “The Street Lawyer” yesterday morning, almost finished it, I’ll have it wrapped up by mid day.
I few days ago I went looking for a place to do laundry, no avail. I started talking to one of the women who works at one of the big hotels here, and she’s going to bring it home with her tonight (She Lives on the next island), and have it for me in the morning. The workers do not live on Contodora. I’m giving my sister the V-Birth, and want clean sheets & towels; this will work out well for my charters as well. When she first started talking to me she was going to do my laundry as a favor (That’s how people are here). I told her I’d give her ten bucks for 2 loads (Heaps of money for her), she was quite pleased.
Today is 6/6/06 and perhaps the end of the world (someone told me in an email), so I’m going to spend a pleasant day drinking tea, reading, and cleaning the boat. Believe it or not, I’m kind of sick of fishing for the moment. Not that I don’t want to eat it, but I don’t feel like hunting & cleaning (lots of work) today. I also have a bit of an ear ache, and want to stay out of the water for a few days.
As soon as my sister gets in on the morning of the 9th, we’ll probably immediately set sail for Isla Espirito Santo (15 miles away). The anchorage is well protected, and it can be a bit rollie here. There is also a fresh water stream, and it’s supposed to be the nicest anchorage in the Las Pearlas.
Have a gr8 day everyone.
Peace, Love & Coconuts.
