Land and Sea

Enough of that!

I hate it when people feel sorry for themselves; sorry I had to expose you to it. I think I’m loosing a little elasticity in my bullet-proof attitude with age. Ten years ago this wouldn’t have fazed me. I watched my own video last night, something I haven’t seen for about a year. It really got me to thinking. If I can pull off project BlueSphere, I can pull off fixing/replacing my motor in my sleep, “Wooden Ships, and Iron men right”?

What’s the worst that can happen? I spend a few months being a diesel mechanic, scrounging for parts, and then explore the Perlas Islands, Darien jungle, and Peru before shoving off across the Pacific in 9 months after the Pacific hurricane season has passed. Not so bad right? I’ve wanted to visit “Matchu Pitchu” (Spelling?) anyway. Cruising is about adapting to your environment, and adapt I will!

I’m posting some pictures of Isla Taboga where I spent a few days this week. It’s only 7 miles away, and if I’m going crazy I can always sail there for a few days and sail back. I’ll try to post a few logs this week, but my current plan is to go buy a cell phone (Yikes), and a compression tester. I downloaded the shop manual for my motor a few years ago when I rebuilt the motor in Charleston South Carolina. If it’s beyond repair, I’ll figure something out. Damn it all to hell, this will not get the better of me.

Here is video that contains my motor rebuild a few years ago: Motor Rebuild Episode

Do you know you could buy a house on Taboga for 10-15K. Amazing isn’t it?

Peace, Love, and lots and lots of tools!
