Land and Sea

Cartagena

I started working on episode #11 today; I think it will be the best of all. I found a good internet café with WI-FI for $1.00 an hour. The connection is fast, there’s air conditioning, and a good vibe about the place.

I’m frustrated with the fact I need to go back to the States. I don’t want to leave Namaste for that long, and I really like it here. It’s a shame people aren’t allowed to work in whatever country they happened to be in, more of a global society if you will.

I had a problem with one of my hard drives and lost a bunch of stuff, along with the last 9 months of emails, that was a bummer. It’s funny, I used to get so stressed about things when they went wrong, now I just shrug my shoulders and deal with it. I mean=85, I used to really freak sometimes, now everything just kind of goes by. It’s a really good feeling; I hope I don’t slip into old habits when I go back to the States.

I’m picking up Spanish quickly and I’m already conjugating small sentences. The only problem is I don’t understand when the return with that 240 mile an hour Spanish, Wow, how can they understand each other. I was in the privacy of Namaste and tried speaking English that fast but couldn’t do it, I ended up cracking myself up though, I don’t think that constitutes talking to one’s self, does it?

The dog (Salty) I was watching in Jamaica, along with her owner (Eric) are here. She ran down the dock today, caught me right behind the knee in excitement to see me, and nearly knocked me into the water.

I’ve talked to a few cruisers here about the San Blas Islands (Panama), and they all agree the islands are spectacular. I can’t wait to hang out with the Kuna (Cuna???) Indians, they are known to be simple, and very friendly. One of the last people not to be touched by the modern world. That should be an interesting episode.

Well it’s almost 2am, the thunder’s thundering, it’s pouring outside, and I’m kick’n it, goodnight.
