By the end of this trip my arms will be huge. As usual first thing in the morning I hauled up 85’ of chain, and the 40lb CQR (anchor), I couldn’t afford a windless, and I figured the exercise would be good for me, my arms burn every time I do it, maybe I should have coffee first.
The wind shifted a bit and I was able to set sail. 20-25kts from the NE. I put a reef in the main, balanced Namaste for a comfortable ride, and she was doing about 4.7 knots. She’s a very slow boat, especially carrying 90 gallons of water, and 68 gallons of diesel. I sailed past NW channel light and entered “the tongue of the ocean” I thought I’d have good luck fishing there (Deep Water), but at the end of the day when I pulled in the rig, I noticed the lure was covered in Sargasso grass; I need to check that in the future.
I anchored between Bird, and Pigeon Cays (25 23.933 N 077 48.539 W) at around 15:00, and will spend an easy night, make a nice dinner, and get a good night sleep, I’m off to Nassau in the morning, and feeling run down again.
