Leaving Bimini

I set sail about 09:00, and motor-sailed across most of the bank, no wind.
It’s kind of uncomfortable motoring along at 5kts, it water so clear you can see every shell on the bottom. I was in only 5-15 feet of water all day. In the middle of the bank it looks like you’re in the middle of the ocean. The joke in the Bahamas is; “If you sink your boat, you can always just walk home”.

I caught a big Barracuda at 13:45, but let him go in fear that he was carrying ciguatera, a poison that is in the meat of many of the reef fish, especially barracuda.

The wind picked up to 22+ around 15:00. I motored until dark and anchored on the bank (25.28.947 N 078 26.511 W) in a 4-5 foot sea. Have you ever tried to sleep on the back of a bucking bronco? That’s what my night was like, not much sleep.
