Land and Sea

Still in Bimini

I hung out in Bimini, one more day. Here’s a neat travel tip. Take Chalks Airlines from Fort Lauderdale, to Bimini. Chalks planes are seaplanes and land right next to the anchorage. The flight is so much fun it’s almost worth the trip in itself; I took one to the states from Bimini in 1997. Stay at the Bimini Big Game club (www.biminibiggame.com), and do a “Dive with the Dolphins” trip from Keefe’s dive shop, right from the Big Game grounds. I’ll show you footage of all this stuff in the next episode, but it would make for a fun weekend.

I met a sailing couple from Washington state. I made dinner onboard Namaste, and we watched a movie. They had a good scare the night before. There was a 45knot squall that went through, he got clipped in the head with his boom, and knocked overboard. Luckily he was wearing his harness. I’m usually pretty lazy about it, but I’ll start wearing it all the time.
