I set sail from Bird Cay around 05:45, when the sun came up and the air  warmed, the breeze freshened to around 23kts from the NE. the seas were 7/8  feet, with the occasional 10/11 rolling by from the passing cold front. Around  13:30, a pod of about 30 dolphins played off of Namaste’s bow for an hour or so.  I arrived in Nassau harbor about 16:00, set the anchor (not easily). When I left  the States I forgot to get a new American Flag, Namaste’s is falling apart in  the sun. When I dove the anchor to make sure it was set, I found a new American  flag lying on the sandy bottom just under Namaste’s keel, what are the chances  of that?
I haven’t seen this much civilization since leaving Miami. I  noticed that the boat next to me was dragging anchor, I took the dingy over to  the boat and knocked on the hull. The boat owners are completely deaf; they only  speak sign, and read lips. I thought my journey was hard; I couldn’t imagine  being deaf at sea, no VHF/SSB communications, or being able to hear the thunder  in the distance to prepare for a squall, or hearing a fog horn to warn you of a  point of land, or hazard. I really give these people credit for following their  dreams.
I’ll go ashore tomorrow and do a bit of exploring. This is my  last real port to provision until I reach Georgetown.
