Young-people

kunarainweb

I just love this photo I grabbed during the first rain of the season.

I never thought I’d ever conjugate a sentence using the words “young-people”, but hell, I’ll be 49 in July.

My last charter, Jared, is only 20 years old. He is really a great kid. All he really wants to do is travel. I think he found some of the jarad-2support he was searching for aboard Splendid. Carla and I both feel, in the pit of our souls, that traveling and finding ones path in life is the most important education “young-people” need before making life-long plans (university/career/matrimony/children).

Jared is on the right path and I’m so grateful that Carla and I had the opportunity to spend some time with him and help him on his way.

jaradsmallWe had a really good time on the reef and he got to swim with sharks and experience the magic of San Blas.

I’m very excited that my buddy David and his wife Cindy are FINALLY coming down for a visit, WOOT!

Carla and I are focusing on doing some painting and a few boat projects. We also booked another charter in mid-June which we are looking forward to.

I’m loving the new ICOM M-802 marine SSB. A friend of ours checked in from DCIM100GOPROGermany yesterday and he was clear as a bell. HF radio is sooooooo cool! I cant wait to get into a pactor modem so I can get HF email all over the world for free!

If anyone wants to come down for a charter let me know.

By the way. My brother-in-law just bought his first sailboat. He got a com-pac 16’ boat and trailer. If anyone has any advice on rigging or powering this little guy please give me/us some IMG_0932advice.

Peace from paradise.

  1. Please send your brother to http://www.trailersailor.com/ for all the information he’ll ever need on that boat. They have a very active and knowledgeable forum.

  2. Hi Alex

Sorry to hi-jack the thread but how is your deck paint (mothane) working out.

    Regards

The mothane is holding up super strong. Not a shiny “yachatie” finish but commercial boat strong which is what I wanted. I’m painting with Sikkens these days and getting a nicer finish.

Fishnforbogy, welcome, glad you like it, we have a nice little community here :)

  5. Ft Lauderdale direct to Cartagena starts in Aug.
