Project BlueSphere

Land and Sea

Miami

Well, Sunday looks like the day to cross the gulf stream and to the Bahamas. The winds will be light from the east, shifting to the south Monday, and north on Tuesday.

Today I’m going to top off the fuel and water and head over to no-name harbor on Key Byscane. Guin’s Dad is comming to visit her tomorrow and spend the day with her, she’s really excited.

The trip to the Bahamas should take about 12 hours and I’m planning on leaving about 2 am to arrive at cat cay the following afternoon. I’ve already got my fishing pole ready with a nice fat squid patiently waiting for a Tuna, Dorado, or Wahoo.

It looks like 2 years of work is going to pay off.

We have only sold 5 raffle tickets at this point. If you go to the bluesphere store you can buy the “Charter Donation” tickets for $50.00 each. Our raffle has really good odds of winning. So do you want to come sailing for a week?

Cheers everyone.

You know if you want to catch a fish, you need to “warm up” your bait first. You just put it between your cheek and gum for a minute :) !!!!! MMMMmmmmmmmMahi !!

  5. Hi Alex

Nice to meet you and your lovely family in Dinner Key Marina today. Hard to believe that it was seven years since we last met in Port Antonio, Jamaica.

    Fair Winds on your trip.

  6. Alex/Sam/Guin,
I can’t beleive you are finally going! We are very happy for you. It seems like yesterday we were talking about Creola. I feel like we know you from watching through the website. I wish we could be following in your footsteps but that is not the direction for us. We wish you Fair Winds and Following Seas. Oh can’t wait to see what Guin thinks of iguanas in the the Exumas:) Vayo con dios.

  7. So excited for all of you! All your hard work is now about to pay off! Congrats!

Any chance you could show a provisioning list? I would love to have an idea of what you packed away to feed yourselves for 5 -6 mths The most we have cruised is three months & we have still topped up along the way.

Safe travels to all of you!

  8. Sounds like a good day for a sail… I just brought Panacea up from Boot Key and have her in a slip at Salty’s right now. A simple sail of 24 hours was 38 after it was all over and done. Just another day of sailing. 15 to 20 on the nose for the first 20 hours and then to the NE at 0.0… Oh well.

Lost an engine for 10 hours with fuel issues and then while working on the problem, the wind died. It was a beautiful thing though and we’re looking forward to paint, varnish, rigging etc. BUT I’m back in a boat.

Thanks for being there and have a great trip Amigo. I’ll catch up with you on a piece of the sea. My best to Sam and Guin.
