The last step before taking a long trip is provisioning. Sam found a great discount grocery here in Stuart and we have fully taken advantage of it. I’m not 2 proud to say we shop at Good will (it’s awesome) and discount food stores. We are working hard on doing what what I wanted to do by getting a bigger boat, filling it with stores. We should leave here with a good 4 months of provisions and fully laden with fuel and water.. 
I wanted to leave at the end of this week but as you can see from Saturdays Grib file it is not looking so good. I’ll be keeping a sharp eye on mid to late next week. I’m still not sure if we are going to do the northern Bahamas or not. It all depends on where we are when the window presents itself.
I cant believe I haven’t shot a fish for a few years now!

hi alex , ian on stormyweather here . we meet in stuart. in little farmers cay exsumas , the fie f,s festible starts tomorrow , spearing been good. weather is hot. abicoes much to cold.they killed a ten foot hammerhead at the ancherage today for meat for festible, good canned butter from ierland . sold here, good for a treet. i also shop the good will store, just smart. by the way i love my 130 genoa from mac sails i had made when we last meet. shooting em up in the exsumas. ian on stormyweather
Yep… Wether happens. I found an Endeavor 43 ketch/cutter that is outfitted well for cruising in Boot Key and I’m pulling her out next Tuesday to sound the bottom. If she sails well then I’ll bring her home in 2 weeks. Settled on a good price and she is outfitted to the gills. She’s been down the Thorny Path 4 times and last year in Mexico, Belize and Panama. Two owners and half her life in fresh water. The owner now has had her for 17 years. As you can see, I’m excited.

There’s a government produce market in Nassau where you can load up on whatever local produce is available. It’s sold by the box. Cans get really boring after awhile. That said, canned butter is cheap and good. You can also get canned nestle’s double cream. Add some vinegar and voilal….sour cream. A little sugar…..dessert topping. BTW when we were in Nassau we tied up at marina for safety reasons. The Exumas are stunning.

I dont want to advertise it too hard but if anyone needs to get us a message or is interested in a charter you can go to the members tab and select “contact splendid via satellite” it’s the last option. You can send short message to us on the satellite system while we are at sea or in an area with no internet.
Paul, I’ll give you a ring 2morrow, and val, thanks for the tip. We will need to take on some provisions in Nassau so it is good advice. Mostly we will just be buying flour, rice and beans to go with the fresh caught fish or chickens. I love to shoot chickens with a sling shot :)
Capt Paul, good luck with the boat mate. Surly do the sounding, Endevors had a few bad years with “lay-up ” issues.

Hey Alex, how about giving us your provisioning list & cost(s)?
We don’t really have a list but I can tell you it is the basics like flour, rice, dried beans, ramen noodles however we prefer the thi glass noodles made from bean. We are also getting soy milk, cereal, lots of oats and so on. We are really shopping for deals and buying bulk. We have probably spent about $150.00 at this point but if we bought the same things in the super market it would have been closet to $300. We will be eating alot of fish, conch, and other various sea food once we take off. Instead of going to the office to “bring home the bacon” I’ll be hunting for it on a daily basis. I’m going to have to shoot more fish with 2 more people to feed. Good thing I love to spear fish :)
