Project BlueSphere

Land and Sea

Time!

It’s always one more thing isn’t it?

The last real thing I have to do before leaving is get back up to Jacksonville to pick up my little 1hp diesel Kubota motor from my friend Bobby who just fixed it. I’ll be going up there later in the week. I’m not going to install the motor before going to the Bahamas, that will be a project for a later date. I spent the morning looking for buses and trains from Stuart to Jacksonville and I’m thoroughly confused. I also looked in to carpooling and ride sharing. I’ve decided that public transpiration in Florida is the devil! I cant believe there isn’t a real good national carpool website. Talk about a good way to save some fuel & money??

The hard freeze we had last week did a lot of local damage. There are so many dead fish floating around it breaks my heart. I must have seen over 20 large snook, not to mention angel, puffers, snappers and the like. You cant spit without seeing dead fish.

Anyway, I took apart the mobile fuel polishing station that I built and installed the Racor 1000FH filter (big one) for my main engine. The last thing I want to do is deal with dirty fuel once we set off. I’m also running a 2 micron filter in it.

I should be getting my new Mack Pack early in the week, and I cant think of much more to do before we leave. We are going to do some bulk food shopping next week and stock up for the trip.

Guin has been off with her dad for the past week and Sam has been sanding, varnishing, and painting in the cockpit like a mad woman. It’s going to look soooo nice :)

We tried the hard cider for the first time last night, Yummy, I don’t think I ever had hard cider before.

Want to come for a charter? We still have 37 raffle tickets available, only $50.00 each. If you want to get one visit the store at http://neo.projectbluesphere.com/Store.aspx and buy 1 or more charter donations. Spending a week sailing, fishing, drinking home made wine in the islands wouldn’t be such a bad thing :)

Cheers

I lived in Fla. for more than 20 years. It seems that the mindset is, if you take public transportation, you’re a loser. Now I live in Portland, Or. and I could care less if I ever own another car.
Try Craigslist, or Pickup pal (http://www.pickuppal.com). I’ve found a ton of rides from both of them.

    Good Luck!

I’m finding craig’s list to be the best option and may have found a ride, and I am a looser, pretty proud of it too :) I have a car to drive back so it works out well. I grew up in NYC so public transporation was never a problem. When I was young I used to make fun of my uncle because he never had a car, I get it now.

    Cheers.

  3. I am sooo excited for you and the girls! I hope you get shoved off without a hitch. You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers and I’ll be extremely jealous at the same time.

    Peace, Love, and Bon Voyage!
