Land and Sea

Life is fun and games!

Well shouldn’t it be?

Sam, Guin and I have been having a ball being off of the dock. Our days are guinonhatchfilled with dinghy rides, cooking, and spending good family time together. Not to mention sweating some bullets in the engine room!

This is kind of a cool picture of Guin standing on the hatch to her room. She really wants to get South so she can swim all day as it’s a bid cold now.

St. Augustine is a really beautiful town at night. Christmas lights dawn the streets along with vendors, musicians, and magicians. Tomorrow we are off to help a friend in Jacksonville. We’ll start trekking South on Wednesday. I want to visit sailors exchange on Tuesday as they are closed on Monday.

Our plan was to be in Stuart by Christmas but we are taking our time.

My friend David has thrust us into the gaming world by giving us a Wii system. I looked into it a bit and there are some cool games for Guin like Dora and some Disney princess games. I’m sure it will be a hit. I promise we will not be spending the days playing video games but it might be some good nighttime entertainment and more “family” interactive than a movie.

guinsaham.

We are going to let the extended family know about the Wii games. The only other thing she really likes is legos if anyone is reading, hint hint! I want to get her a spear gun but it may be a bit too early :)

Sam found a great store when we were in Houston and bought all sorts of PC learning games (Spelling & math). I had an old laptop stashed away and was going to load it up with all the programs and give it to Guin but moisture got to it from a leaky chain plate (fixed it today), and well…, It’s done. There is no shortage of computers on board though. I have two, Splendid has one as well as Sam.

Happy holidays everyone.

Peace, Love, and Sailing.

  1. YAY first post! The Wii is a awesome tool for the kids, my son is 2 and he loves playing with it. Great learning games and they even have a yoga “game” for adults. What are you plans for Christmas? Are you guys going to be at sea on the 25th? Emily and I are finally moving to Jacksonville Fl this march, I got a job that let me work for 7 week on and have 7 weeks off for sailing (keep us in mind if you find a steal of a boat with a full keel in Fl somewhere, we are officialy in the market). Well it sounds like only thing in life you need is some warm weather (we are looking at 2 feet of snow in Maryland), take care and be safe.

    peace, love and Beatles,

  3. Just wanted to wish you all a very Merry Christmas! I may not get another chance before the 25th.

Sounds like you’re looking forward to having a little dive/spearfishing buddy. That’s great! She will have experiences and knowledge far above most kids.

Peace, Love, and Good Will toward men!
