Land and Sea

Home!

The crew of “Fasaga” pulled into Beach Marine last night just in time for dinner at Fast Boys (great wings). Fasaga is birthed next to Splendid. I cant tell you how happy I was to see her masts over the trees as we made our final turn off the ICW. I really had a good time sailing with Marty and David.

I think Splendid is as excited to shove off for the Bahamas as Sam, Guin and I are. Guin does a cute “going to Bahamas BABY” song and dance whenever we talk about it. She really enjoys traveling on the boat and is looking forward to the clear water and swimming. The girls are coming home on Sunday and we are going to sail Fasaga down to Marathon. “Sam, don’t get used to the generator and AC”! Actually I think I’d be more apt to run them.

I’m really looking forward to the girls being home, it has been a weird month traveling. I like delivering boats but it tears my heart away from home. I’ll be really happy when we are chartering and making a few bucks as a family. I plan to get back to writing and Sam is going to give it a shot as well. We will also start production of the 3rd Project BlueSphere DVD ” A family cruising adventure”. I don’t know where we are going, just that we are leaving. It’s been a stressful year and a half putting Splendid together, it’s time to enjoy the hell out of her with or without paint!

The last real big thing I had to buy was an EPIRB and I got one on eBay. It just went through ACR recertification and is good for another 5 years. I’ve been thinking of trying to buy parts to build a water maker (about $1,500) but I may hold off for a while. It will be nice to have the extra cash and rain water is abundant. I’m going to build a nice catcher from an old spinnaker.

Anyway guys,

Peace, Love, and Love.

Sail far and live slowly.

  5. Guys, do you want to know the defination of “true Love”. I think it is driving 677 miles to get your girls from the airport. Sam and Guin got bumped on their flight to Jacksonville and I drove to get them in Ft. Lauderdale, about 12 hours round trip. We are all sitting in our main cabin havbing a little bread, brie, and Sam is tasting our latest batch of wine, she gives “thumbs up”. I’m so happy I cant see straight. We are taking off to the keys on Fasaga tomorrow. We’ll be running the spot and taking our time.

    Life’s good :)

  6. didnt know they had so much trouble on their flight—it seem to have worked out well–what are your plans after you return to jacksonville and get your boat–sam-you owe me a call
