Well Chuck, Darrin, and I did a little work on the 4.5hp diesel Kubota yesterday. I got a honer at harbor freight and honed the cylinder until it was nice and clean. When we opened the package of new rings we instantly knew they sent us the wrong ones as they were at least twice as large as they should be. Chuck called and the new rings are being delivered today.

I met the guy that lives down the street from Chuck and he offered me his dock. He is leaving on vacation for a week and would like to have someone around the house. We will motor down there today; it should take about 45 minutes. The sky iws growling so it may be a wet trip. We’ll have water and power, WOOT! I’ll be close to Chucks to work on the motor and get some projects done.

Darren was over yesterday using our sailright to re-stitch his bimini. I’m glad he’ll be out of the sun for the next trip. He is just starting not to peel and pick at the horrible sunburn he got on the trip up here.

I’ve been spending some time plotting and studying charts. We may stop in Charleston, or just go for Beaufort (spelling NC) and then motor the rest of the way up.

Cheers all.

Sail far and live slowly.

  1. alex–its fun readinyour daily reports even though i dont have any idea about what your talking about—how about a few words about my girls–what do they do all day while your fixingthe things that need to be done–the weather has finally gotten very hot and humid –tell sam Glenn and his wife had thgir second daughter and named her rachel-a naming party next month-were off to the cardiologist with pop for a check-up—have a great day–see you soon–bubby flip

  2. Both cities are really nice. Me personally, I like Charleston a little bitter. The whole atmosphere, the market, the history, rainbow row. Its a gorgeous city! I also love reading the daily log. I have some clue about the things you speak of. You do a pretty good job explaining things also making it pretty easy for a “non-salty” person to catch on. Cant’ wait for some more videos.
