Well I went to work today and managed to drag myself through it. At the end of the day I ended up sicker then when I started, my chest is in really bad shape, I’m hacking up evil things. I pulled myself out of the extra 2-3 weeks of extra work today. There is just no way in hell I can do it, put a fork in me, I’m DONE! I want to be home with Sam and get back to the beautiful life that we have. I spoke to her last night and she said all I needed to hear “Baby…, come home we have enough money”. I’m so excited to go home I cant see straight. It’s true, we do have enough money. I cant buy the water heater, or the parts to the water maker that I want to build, but I most certainly have enough. I’ll probably go home with 4 grand in my pocket and that is a hell of a lot more than I’m used to having around. Guin is done with school at the end of May and Sam will start home schooling in the next few months. We are going to get to start cruising now!
I don’t have much energy to write so I’m going to crash now. I’m flying out at 9pm on the 5th, flying all night, and arriving in Key West at 1pm the next day. It all seems so brutal at the moment. Oh yeah, I have 9 hrs to burn in the airport in Vancouver, ARRRGGGG! I’m going to try and upgrade/change my ticket at the airport that morning.
The road home seems so long at the moment.
Peace, everyone.

Hey Alex! Sorry to hear about the sickness! I’ve been sick for a week myself! I can’t decide if it’s allergies or cold or flu or all at the same time! I can’t seem to shake it! I was supposed to set sail to alaska on April 22nd, but it didn’t happen. I have a doctors appointment on the 5th and then plan to head north on the 6th. I’m so looking forward to cruising! And to think you set my dream into motion almost two years ago down in Panama! cheers my friend! get well! Rick

If you can, take a good dose of “medicine” and sleep all the way home. I’ll definately be praying for a quick recovery!
By the way, there’s just something wonderful about having someone(s) who needs you, isn’t there?

Alex,
Sorry to hear you’re feeling poorly. Get well soon!
On the plus side, dude!, you’re going cruising!!!!
Fair winds, my friend,
Nick
Hey Alex and Sam, I had to do a tracking on the syrup/beer package and found that it was damaged in Jacksonville and was discarded (yeah right). So I am so so sorry, I guess I didn’t pack it quite good enough. I would try it again if I knew you would be someplace for a couple weeks. BUT I bet you hop NOT to be anywhere that long again!!! Ha Ha.
Let me know. Dean
Sorry to hear your not feeling well.
Get home get well and go sailing. Keep it simple Alex if you buy too much you’ll have to work too much.
Sorry your feeling bad, btu you’ve done what you wanted to do, “Make some money”. How come home. Hay. is Darrin coming home as well. We can’t forget your side kick. He’s a hard worker? Please give us an update on Darrin.
Thanks
You’ll feel better when you get back to the keys, though that productive cough sounds like a bacterial infection, and antibiotics might be necessary. Sorry you have to go back to the mainland aof FL as it feels like the wrong direction. Head south before the storms start brewing! Hurricane season starts June 1 and I’d hate for you to get trapped, or expose your new family to something that turns them off the sailing adventure. I never deployed that sea anchor but bought it and all the accessories to be prepared, but you’d be putting your family on the next plane home if you had that kind of trip this early in their cruising life. They needs some splendid sailing before they learn about weather.
