Namaste

Click to view full size image Well I’m off in the morning to work for 3 weeks. I’ll be returning to Splendid and my girls on the 5th of May, ARRRRGGGGG, I’m really going to miss them!

Namaste has been undergoing a paint job at the same time as Splendid. I’m glad she is sitting on the other side of the world sailing in the southern hemisphere. I hear her prop got all tangled up in a fishing net a few days ago. She looks happy and Wojteck seems to be good to her. I really miss that little boat. We had such adventures and good times together.

A new chapter is open in my life and my smile is long. Life is good to me and I feel quite blessed. The 3 weeks ahead of me seem difficult. I’m such a home-body and don’t like leaving my place. It’s a good thing my home can sail otherwise I’d truly go out of my mind. As soon as I get back I’ll be sailing again. I’ll have a few bucks in my pocket (Man I’ve been broke) and I’m planning on getting 300′ of 5/16ths BBB chain and a 80-100lb Manson supreme anchor as soon as I get back. I also have to deal with my diesel tanks, they are dirty. I may need to cut them open and give them a good scrub. I’m also going to build a mobile fuel polishing system so I can help other cruisers out if need be. Dirty fuel can be such an issue and difficult to deal with in remote areas.

I’m bringing my laptop, I hear I can buy WIFI cards on the ship, and will attempt some updates. They may be scarce however I hear I’ll be working 12-15 hours a day.

Peace everyone.

Sail far and live slowly.

Hey Alex, what happened to Bluesphere Energy?

    -Sebastian

  2. Thanks for the update on “Namaste”, yes she looks great. I can understand how you could miss such a sailboat and all the memories that you made while sailing her. Know one thing, we as the followers of Projectbluespher feel that Splendid will take you and us places that you’ve dreamed about. Maybe a few of us will get to take a trip or two with you, to places we’ve dreamed about. Has you’ve stated many times, Splendid is not just a sailboat but your home, and you willingness to share her with us on a charter is a dream that would have never happened on Namaste.
So you and Darrin be safe, very safe, for you both have a job to do back here, Finish Splendid so we all can continue to dream thru your life. Yes, we can’t wait till the day when your web site has charter dates. What kind of ship will you be working on? I guess it doesn’t matter as long as theres money at the end of the day to finish Splendid.
Take photos of the places you go, and put them on the web site. Have a drink, no have two … be safe

I thought Namaste was heading to Poland? What’s up?

  4. rguffery,

We’ll be working on a cruise ship, no passengers tho. And yes, one of the big parts to the future of project bluesphere is chartering (cheap) and teaching people how to unplug and live the life. I’m hoping to have families join Sam, Guin, and I for a week or two at a time.

Anyway, got to wake up at 2am for the airport. Good night guys.

I know alex your life is adjusting as you go .. but let it be known many of us that follow this site are awaiting the for the time when we too can spend some time under sail with you to learn and keep our dreams alive….. as soon as you can come somewhat close to opening some dates up let us know..alot of heads up time is required for time off work and planning, weather etc. thanks so much for keeping this site alive. It gives alot of us the will to dare to dream. Brett

Does Darrin have a blog or a web page to follow? We’ve heard alot about him, yet no background. If he is willing would be nice to learn some about him.

    hello all, sam here..

hallelujah to ‘under sail’ as well.. i know i can’t wait! darrin does not have a site of his own yet but the boys are going to work on an offshoot for him as soon as the paint is dry… that will be a day for some serious celebration! as for the impending charters, rest assured, while alex is off makin’ the bacon i will be spending weekends further readying the interior for company and (cross your fingers) finally airing and vacumming pounding and whacking the last of the fiberglass dust out of our cabins . one day it will be but a myth.. oh sweet non-itchiness…

nice to hear from you sam. in a strange but nice way were all kinda of family here. ….. just throwing this out there … maybe some day alot of us that follow the site could get together every year or so to meet and encourge each other and talk about our like minded goals… I know thats easier said than done… whats everybody think? I have some time before I came sail away. but fear the dream may fade with time… dont want that to happen.. take care everyone Brett

  9. Sam give Alex a kick or two we updates more often. This 18 wheeler is 80,000 pounds of hell in the mountains or heavy traffic. We (I) need more up dates to keep us going. Have a good day Alex God speed.

Hey Sam, did you get my package from the marina?
    Dean

  11. rhythmgypsysam@yahoo.com

strange and family are practically synonomous in my book:) as for the package Dean, i did not get it but it was not for lack of trying. after dropping the boys off at the plane guinna and i drove into town had breakfast and a lovely wander down the docks until the office opened at 8:30am. when i inquired about the package i was informed that her’s was NOT the post office but since it is the office at the marina people do recieve packages here but ours was not one of them. i left our number in case it showed but i’m wondering if we could have missed it? was it sent back? she was giving me no info in that dept. i do so wish i had procured said package.. i joked with alex that i might save him a sip of that yummy sounding mexican beer. a girl needs some numbing when cleaning up fiberglass;)

also, i spoke to alex last night ( i now keep my phone under my pillow, long days and time difference make for late calls, cute, eh?) and he had just retired from a grueling 17 hour day. six of which was running a jack hammer. he actually volunteered for the overtime, when asked he said ‘i am here to make money not sleep’ . so he was rather tired. alex says the ship is amazing (he has abalcony suite) and the food is plenty (full crew) and the boys all play well together . i’ll let him fill in the details himself when he posts next. darrin is fine too, though without his luggage:(
hope your days are lovely… -sam

I put a note on the package to have them hold it for at least 30 days, It may not have been there yet, it would probably be more than a week to get there. Check back when you can. Glad you gave them your phone# It may help, the lady will probably remember my conversations with her I spoke with her 3 times, I can call again in a day or to to see if it arrived or if they are just being asses. If they live and work there they should deal with what comes along with taking care of boaters.
    Good luck, Dean

    Jackhammering on a cruiz ship?

  13. rhythmgypsysam@yahoo.com

cool, dean.. the next time i am in key west proper will be to pick alex up in 3 weeks, if it truly is held for 30 days we should be gravy:) as for the jackhammering, darrin compares cruise ships to condos, in that context jackhammering for the deconstruction phase sits in the mind a bit easier..keep me up to date if there is any problem with them holding zee package.. hope your day is fab… -sam
