I spent my first night on the hook last night and slept like a baby!
I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the work I need to do. I’m throwing away and giving away so much stuff. I’m going to go look for a little inverter today. I’ll get a 750 – 1000 watt inverter until I come across a real inverter (2500+) with remote switch that I can install and wire into the ships 110 system.
I also need to go get a battery monitor. I can’t really tell the condition of my new battery bank as there is no volt meter hooked into the system. There is an amp meter at the helm but I don’t trust it and it only measures the alternators output.
The first thing on my agenda today is making my bilge pump automatic. The bilge area is quite small. I need to get a very small float switch and attach it to a stick that I can lower into the bilge. I won’t feel comfortable leaving the boat until this is done.
Even though my rig is new I’m not going to go sailing until I’ve gone aloft and really inspected it. I’m not sailing a little 28 footer anymore and the rig will be under a much greater load than I’m used to.
My video camera is down at the moment but I shot this clip with my still camera. I wanted to show everyone my beautiful new boat : )

I’m a bit freaked by how fast the money is flowing but I’m almost over the initial hump. I also need to go buy some speakers. I found a clarion stereo but it is not installed. I also need to figure out how to get my IPOD plugged into it.
Cheers everyone.
Peace, Love, and Coconuts.
Alex
