Land and Sea

Back 2 Sea

The swell changed direction and I had a sleepless night in a rollie anchorage, it was like being at sea.

I’m heading off today. The wind has piped up to a solid 20+ knots and by looking at the GRIBS I should have a fast passage to Tonga. The sea is showing to be 8 feet but I’m expecting 10.

Getting weather at sea is difficult and expensive for me. I’m looking for someone who knows how to read a weather fax that would be willing to send me an update via my instant messaging system. One can see the weather fax from Fiji by visiting www.met.gov.fj my back slash is on the same button as my question mark and not working. but if you add a backslash AIFS_PRODS backslash weather.PHP it should bring you directly to the fax.

I’m crossing my fingers that the autopilot will work well. The guy I got it from says the older Autohelm ones are better then the newer ones. He says that the new ones are assembled in Hungry or some place and the Quality Control is sub standard to the older models. He seems to know what he’s talking about.

Anyway I’m off to deal with paperwork.

Cheers everyone.

Peace, Love, and fair seas.
