Land and Sea

Yucky, Icky, Squallie!!!

The seas picked up yesterday and it was 14:00 before I managed to get any food or tea in me. On my next boat I want one of those one burner, 360 degree gimbaled, propane teapots in the cockpit. It would be perfect for instant soups and tea. I?d never have to cook in the galley in bad conditions. I find coffee to harsh on my system at sea (acid) and I?ve really turned into quite the tea drinker in the past few months.

I kept the radar on perimeter alarm all day and stayed in the cabin away from the spray and rain. I don?t know how I ever lived without my ipod, I use it more then my laptop. Needless to say I spent the day in my bunk listening to music and daydreaming about my next boat. I?m not going to mention what, or where it is yet as I could loose it to another buyer. If it sells before I can get to her I?ll be really bummed but I?ll go to stay with a friend for a few months and finish the next DVD.

I?ve only managed about 12-15 hours sleep since I left Bora Bora and I?m a bit tired. I don?t like taking sleeping pills at sea because if I need to get up I?m groggy and not 100 percent when I need to be. What I do like to take is a half a zanax every third or fourth night depending on sea conditions. With the zanax I have no ?sleeping pill? hangover, and I easily wake up to the slightest bump or sound that is out of place, and I?m wide awake. I only have two zanax left and I?m saving them for emergency type conditions. If the sea is really rough I can?t sleep at all. From Jamaica to Colombia I was awake for 6 days, not a ?happy place? to be.

Today is a nicer day, the sea is down to about 8 feet and the wind about 12 knots. I?m guessing there is another low to the south of me. I?m planning on doing some reading, listening to music, and attending to my ?Memory Castle for a few hours. Right now I?m listening to ELO, what ever happened to those guys. By the way my question mark on my keyboard doesn?t work, I know it should come after a question.

Peace, Love, and Sound Sleep everyone.

Namaste
