Ship happenz

You know what they say “Ship Happenz”.

I was changing my oil yesterday and noticed that one of my hi-pressure fuel lines from the injector pump to the injector is leaking. It had leaked in Panama and I replaced it with a new one, The new one was a strait piece of tube that I had to bend to fit. I didn’t bend it just right and it didn’t fit into the little “doohickey” that held the 3 fuel lines together, it didn’t seem important at the time so I didn’t put the “gizmo” back. Well looking back, that little “thingamabob” was to dampen vibration so the fuel lines wont end up leaking.

My motor has been running like a top. When I came into Tahiti I was motoring into 30kt headwinds and really pushing her hard, she just purred like a kitten. The last time I pulled her apart I finally found the problem with my cooling issue that haunted me for so long. She seems great with the exception of “Human error” and “doohickey” replacement. The good news is, it’s not a big deal to fix, but the bad news is I have to wait for parts, ARRRRGGGGGGG. I suppose there are worse things then being shipwrecked in Tahiti.

I’m getting a lot of good feedback from my Article in Latitudes & Attitudes this month; I wish I could see it for myself. I’m also hearing everyone is enjoying the latest videos I’ve been posting of the crossing, well here’s another.
