Land and Sea

Tour

I went out to a local dance show with some friends last night, what a nice evening. It was a really big production. At one time there were 100 hula girls dancing on the stage backed up by local Polynesian music and singers.

Today I’m going to see the island with a friend of a friend, of a friend who I haven’t met yet. My old sailing buddy in California has a friend who has a sister here, and I’m going on a tour with her cousin. Another cousin used to “head up” immigration so maybe I’ll get some info on the visa thing. I’ll bring my video and still cameras and will post pictures soon, I hear there is a nice waterfall.

I found that I have a really bad sea water (cooling) leak on my motor. I haven’t tracked it down yet but much of the starboard side of the motor is covered in salt, ARRRRGGGGG! I really do hate working on the motor!

Another bummer is my new sat-phone is lost in the mail. It was shipped USPS with a tracking number but it still managed to loose its way. I’m going to try to have a radar pole fabricated as FEDEX wants $350 to ship a piece of stainless tube.

I must say I really do like Tahiti and I’d like to spend some time in the Society Islands.

I hope everyone is having a good Sunday.

Cheers from Tahiti.
