Projects

I’ve got so much to do and so little time.

The worst thing about crossing the Pacific is the visa situations; one always needs to be on the move. The French will only give me 3 months in every six and that is just not enough time.  I need to leave French Polynesia by July 23rd.

What I really want is to spend the next 8 months here. I’d love to write a series of articles (Sailing Tahiti, Moorea, Bora-Bora, etc) and finish my DVD. There are a few good hurricane holes and Tahiti hasn’t had a cyclone in 20 years. I’ve inquired to my ships agent about a visa extension and he’s told me “Impossible, even if you were on a mega spending 10k a day they wouldn’t let you stay”! In the next few weeks I need to fix my SSB, Radar, make a new floor for my deflatable, Get my new sat-phone up and running, and buy a new computer monitor for Namaste’s computer. I can’t even think of knocking out the DVD, that virus really screwed things up for me. I’m so close, yet completion seems so far. Not only do I want to finish it but I really need to get the income as well. I’m going to sit down as soon as I get to Tonga and work on it. I guess everything happens for a reason?

A bunch of us (12 cruisers) gathered on Sora for a nice 4th of July dinner. Cass and Karen (Mom) made a nice turkey with plenty of sides. I retired early to watch a movie so I could get an early start on projects today. Chris thinks we should give another go at trying to pull the prop “Sounds good to me”.

Cheers everyone.

Peace from Tahiti.
