Well I made it through the pass with no problems. As soon as I was free of the Ahi atoll I felt fantastic. If you can tell I’m not a big atoll fan, I like my boat.
The wind quickly freshened to 25 knots, and in a few hours was reaching 30-35. It was strange, the skies were clear without squalls; it was just windy as hell. The seas obviously followed suit and my first 24 hours were uncomfortable to say the least. I am very tired.
I was dragging a line and caught the biggest Dorado I’ve ever seen. It was 4.5’ and weighed over 30lbs (guessing), I have pictures. I quickly turned on my refrigeration and got to work cleaning the fish. In heavy conditions my refrigeration doesn’t work well. When I installed it I mounted the compressor in such a way it doesn’t like a starboard tack. Well, that being said, I lost my fish as it didn’t get cold in time to preserve it. What a waste!
I’ll be in
Peace, Love, an d
