Adventure

I know what kind of boat I would like next. I could easily see myself in a Westsail 32, but I’ve fallen in love with Cape George’s. I visited a 40’ Cape George yesterday “Mist”, she is a beautiful boat and exactly what I would like in my next boat. They make a 36 which would be a little better for me. I don’t know that I’d ever be able to afford one, but if I could “What a sweet ride”!

I visited with Mist’s owners Jim and Lina for an hour or so. They are traveling backwards and are on the way back to BC. They have confirmed what I’ve been thinking. I’ve been thinking of skipping New Zeeland (Land of cruisers) and venturing through unfamiliar water to the Solomon Islands, Pappa New Guinea (Melanesia), and into Indonesia, before heading west to China and India. It’s a bit trickier cruising as many of the countries endure civil unrest, charts are scarce, and piracy can be a problem, but what an adventure! You only live once right?

Time will tell my future. Truthfully I have no idea where my path leads, I can only speculate.

I’ve pushed my crossing to Nuka Hiva a day as there is a native dance festival today. I think it might be a good opportunity for Photos and video.

I’m getting excited to venture further South West to the Tuamotos.

Peace, Love, and life.
