I just got off the SSB and learned that there are 2 cyclones to the south of me stealing my wind. I am making way slowly at about 3 knots, 950 miles to go. I’ve been informed wind will be scarce for the next few days, hopefully back to full trade status by the weekend.
The bracket on my auto pilot broke (the part that connects to the tiller), but luckily I had a spare and fixed the situation quickly. I also see that a clamp on my boom has broken; I think I can fix it by lashing the area with line it can wait till tomorrow.
I worked on my inflatable today patching what I hope is the last leak. I still want to paint the floorboards and try to squeeze another season out of her.
I’ve spent most of the day reading and trying not to focus on the fact I’m creeping along at a snails pace. I talked to a friend on the SSB who is sailing for Hive Oa and he still has over 3000 miles to go, made me feel better.
Not much else to report today. I’m feeling really tired thought-out the day I think it is from the lack of exercise.
The sunset is particularly beautiful tonight; I’m sailing directly towards it.
I’ll open a can of something for dinner and return to the
Cheers.
Alex
