Land and Sea

Makig way!

Lat -4.7325
Lon -95.381667

I running my rum line at 5.5 knots.

It’s raining hard and blowing 15 – 20.from just east of south. I sea is not so bad, about 8 feet. However it is difficult to keep a footing or write.

I was motoring last night. I had put 3 reefs in the main expecting a lot of wind. It went from 2knots to a 40 – 50 knot gust, and settled around 20. It took me a while to get Namaste balanced out, but once I did I was making way for the Mrquesas, I started moving west.

I had my fowlie jacket and harness on. I passed out in the torrential rain, maybe for an hour. Once I saw the win was steady I went below and dried off and slept for three hours.

Finally I’m sailing in real wind.

Cheers from a stormy sea.
