Some of you have asked what frequencies I monitor on the SSB.

At 14:00 Zulu (UTC) I listen, and check into the Pan Pacific net on 8143 USB. I’m also trying to contact a friend on the east coast and I’m trying 12 Alpha (12353) at 00:00 Zulu, then 16A (16528) 10 minutes later. If anyone wants to try and contact me via SSB please try me on 12, or 16A at the appropriate time.

Last night I lay in the cockpit watching a meteor shower. I contemplated my navel for many hours, my smile twice the length of the equator itself. I am really such a fortunate man, I am thankful!

I went to sleep around 22:00, and woke up at 04:30, that’s 6.5 hours of continual sleep while Namaste was making 4-5 knots. What a treat! I get cold at night and usually put on long pants and shirt. I have a warm weather sleeping bag I got at REI that acts as a perfect wind-breaker. I usually use my drifter in its bag as a pillow and leave my oil lamp on ever so softly. I sleep with my head aft so I have a good view of my instruments. I can open one eye and see everything.

I started my French lessons this morning; it’s kind of spinning me out. I spoke a bit of French as a child. My mother spoke fluently as she spent her early years in Paris. Hopefully it will come back to me quickly.

I still have good wind and I’m plowing along at 4 knots.

Good morning everyone.

Peace!

Alex
