Project BlueSphere

Land and Sea

4 hour job my ass!

I had a grand vision of this going easily, ARRRGGGGG.

I took off the head and cylinder block. I pulled the injector, rocker arms, and valves. The cylinder was obviously getting really hot. The first thing I noticed is that the new rebber gaskets I put on a few years ago were hard as stone. I broke a fuel line, AHHHHHH! I=B4m not really bitching, just really looking forward to have the job done. The shop manual said to gently tap out the cylinder liner. With all my force and a rubber malet, the sleeve was not comming out for anything, I GIVE UP !!!!

I brought the head and cylinder block to a machine shop for pressing and cleaning. The water flow around the head and cylinder had a 90% blockage. They did a wounderful jhob for $60.00. Now all I have to do is put Humpty Dumpty back together again!!!

I am going to spend the rest of the day working on the motor.

Cass and father (Terry) are taking off for Equador on Sunday. You can follow their progress at sailblogs.com, look up =A8sailing with Sora=A8. I will be quite sad to see Sora sail. Say that 5 times fast.

The presale button for the next DVD is up if you want to resurve your copy of =A8The Art Of Cruising=A8early.

Cheers everyone.

Peace, Love, and Coconuts.

I will be slaving in the engine room.
