Land and Sea

Trappings of society.

This always happens, I get stuck in port. I need, I need, I need, and I end up hemorrhaging the little money that I have. $200.00 for sail repairs, $120.00 for bottom paint, $210.00 for a mooring I don’t want to be on, $250.00 for the mandatory Costa Rica trip not to mention all the little expenses that probably add up to another $500.00 (Provisioning, Blah, Blah, blah)!!!

Cassie and I went to the airport yesterday to pick up my new Single Side Band radio that was shipped from the states. Awesome radio, it’s a SEA 225. I hooked it up yesterday and talked to friends in the Galapagos and Costa Rica. My last SSB was a SEA 222 and I’ll always stick with them. You don’t see them on sailboats often, but most commercial/fishing boats use them, fantastic radio (150 watts).

If you look in my early pictures you will see a bunch of photos of my UPS shipping nightmares. When Cass and I went to the airport yesterday to pick up the box it took us 3 hours and stamps from 5 different locations (officials) to get out of there, WTF? I’m convinced that UPS is the Devil!!!!!!

Every time someone sends me a FED EX it comes to me here at the club without a problem, no wonder their stock is doing so well.

Cass and I have a few projects to do today but we will leave for the Perlas at first light or earlier.

Peace, Love, and FED EX

Alex
