Land and Sea

Back in my element (Island Life)!!!

I Left Isla Linton yesterday morning around 0730, and made It to ChiChime around 1750. It’s nice to be back in the San Blas again. The kids came out on there ulues (Dug-out’s), and my Kuna friends waved from the beach as I entered the anchorage.

My friend Jaime was in the anchorage when I pulled in with his French buddy that just flew in for a couple of weeks. There was also an Australian boat with some Norwegians on board. We all bought some local crabs & lobsters, made a fire on the beach, and had a really nice evening. I had a bit too much Rum, but that’s the way it goes sometimes, I’m paying for it this morning.

I check into the Panama Connection Net on the SSB most mornings. The Panama Connection Net meets daily on 8107 USB @ 1330 Zulu if anyone wants to check in and say hi. It was nice to hear all the “welcome backs” from my friends.

I’m excited to pickup my charter on Sunday. I really enjoy showing people this very special place. Although I have to leave the San Blas in a few months, I really conceder it the most wonderful place I’ve seen to date. There has been news in the papers that says the Panamanian President has big plans for the San Blas. They are talking about cruise ship ports, and big hotels. What a tragedy it would be if the government came in and took control away from the Kuna. I fear that our children or our children’s children will never know a place of such natural beauty. What are we doing?

That’s it, I’m going to be cleaning today and tomorrow, making some more bread (I’m getting quite good at it), and doing some spear fishing.

If you have the time, please send an instant message to say hi.

Peace, Love, and Coconuts.
