San Blas Islands

I left Panama, and made it back to Cartagena today.

Here’s some pictures for the log books.

“Little wing” was constructed from Microsoft money to the tune of 1.2 million dollars. She is a 52’ carbon fiber catamaran, and WOW!!!! Is she fast. I’m a mono-hull guy, but I have to give “Little Wing” credit where credit is due. The trip from Cartagena was not an easy one but we pounded the miles away quickly. This picture was taken sailing in good weather inside the reef.

I was really impressed with the San Blas islands and the Kuna Indians. I’m talking to some people and may spend a fair amount of time documenting the 360 islands, and the way of the Kuna Indians. I don’t think the Islands will stay as untouched and pristine as they are for very long. Cruise ships are starting to visit, and I think the San Blas will become another major cruising destination before you know it.
