Land and Sea

Port Antonio

I love Mangos, in fact they are my favorite fruit, but I need some diversity. Time to go coconut hunting. I found a 20′ piece of bamboo; perhaps I can knock them from the trees above. The Coconuts are really hard to detach from the stem, brute force is needed.

Not only are the coconuts hard to get from the tree, but once you get them they’re even harder to open. Mental note, “Sharpen my machete”!

The coconut water is plentiful and good. I manage to get 14 Coconuts, and put them next to my banana bunch in Namaste’s cockpit. The coconut water is particularly good with Ice, rum, and lime.

It’s amazing how much damage one small fire ant can do. The ant that bit my hand was nearly microscopic, but my hand swelled up like a balloon and is still soar three days later.

Still waiting for weather, actually praying for it. I know it’s going to be very hot in Columbia, but I’m up for a new adventure.
