Land and Sea

Nassau

Got up and listened to BASRA (Bahamas Air Sea Rescue Association) weather broadcast on VHF Channel 72, and what do you know, more wind 25+. I decided to go to Rose Island anyway, I met some cool people (Canadians) aboard “What’s Up Doc”, and we were going to do some spear fishing & do a movie night. Things never turn out the way I plan them. I left Nassau harbor around 1100, and shortly their after the RPM gauge started dancing around. I figured to play it safe, turn around, and re-anchor in my same spot. I was right about the gauge, it was just a loose connection on the sender, and fixed it in a few minutes. While I was doing it I noticed that one of my motor mounts was loose, and askew, that’s a bit bigger of a job, it took a few hours to fix. At around 15:30 I went over to “Sea Dragon”, a beautiful CT 38’, and hung out with some new friends. They have an online Nautical Gifts website (www.shipslocker.com) and are heading back to the States later on in the week. It’s funny, I still get stressed out about weather. Nassau isn’t such a bad place to be stuck for a few more days I guess : )
