Time to get going again

My time in Maryland is coming to an end, Hurricane season is nearly over (Dec 30th). I’m waiting for weather and will be off within a week. I’m looking forward to traveling the ICW (inter-coastal waterway) from Virginia to Miami. Nick enjoyed his time on Namaste so much, he’s looking at getting a boat of his own. It always makes me smile to hear someone say that, because of the joy that sailing brings me. My plan is to be in Miami around Christmas, do the Bahamas & Caribbean, and work my way to Panama to cross the canal in March. I’ve been sick most of this week from my travel vaccinations. I have a bad habit of putting things off to the last minute, and vaccinations should not be one of them. In the last few days I’ve received Hepatitis A&B, Typhoid, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Td (tetanus & diphtheria), polio, yellow fever, and influenza vaccines. I also got tested for aids & tuberculosis. I now have a international certificate of vaccination. Many countries require this certificate which should be kept with ones passport. I also got a 30 day supply of malaria medicine, which I will need to take in certain parts of Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and parts of South America. All in all the tests, vaccines, and prescriptions were about $450.00. I’ll need to get another Hepatitis vaccine in 30 days, and again in 6 months. I’ve had a fever, and bad headaches for the past few days, I suppose it’s a small price to pay for good health. I will have another video update a few weeks. As always, stay in touch, and follow your dreams.
